When a sizable earthquake struck last July, I should have been prepared. Instead, I ran around our living room repeatedly yelling “IT’S HAPPENING” at David before screaming we needed to get under a doorframe. When he came to join me in the bathroom doorway, I pushed him towards the bedroom while lovingly barking, “NO YOUR OWN DOORFRAME!”
